Exclusive dinner, the first time that a Western Chef has had the privilege of cooking in this room where the treaty of opening the Japanese borders was signed in over 175 years, a great honor that today I still remember with immense pleasure.
Some information about Meiji Kinenkan (also known as Constitution Memorial Hall) was built in 1881 as a dining room and reception used to receive important guests from abroad at the Temporary Palace in Akasaka. It also served as a venue for deliberations by the Imperial Council on the drafting of the Meiji Constitution. Since it was moved and rebuilt as Meiji Kinenkan in 1947, the property has continued its unparalleled tradition of attention-conscious service, hosting countless meetings that have created wonderful memories for its guests.
